Veolia Environment Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2010

The closing date for entries for the Veolia Environment Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2010 is March 5th. That’s two weeks this Friday. I’m not a wildlife photographer but if you are then you must check out, and hopefully enter, this photo competition. The competition is now in its 46th year and it showcases the very best in nature photography. Last year there were 41,135 entires from 94 countries. Good luck!
Check out this online gallery where you can browse all the winning, runner-up and highly commended images from the previous year’s competitions.
For the last few years I have been lucky enought to catch the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition as it has made a stop on its world tour at the Royal Alberta Museum in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I see from the 2010 tour schedule that the exhibit showcasing some incredible nature photography will be stopping by my home town once again – May 23 until Sep 13. I look forward to it!
For those who have not heard about the unfortunate incident involving last year’s overall winner, here is the statement that was put out by the competition committee.
