Jasper photo jaunt
I took a little photo jaunt out to Jasper a few days before Christmas. I find my trips to the National Parks to be very therapeutic. I didn’t grow up out West in the presence of the majestic Rocky Mountains but I experience a true sense of peace and calmness when I am in their midst.
Unless I am camping in the Parks, my photo trips tend to be one day events. I get up in the middle of the night and drive out of Edmonton in the darkness to arrive for first light. I have a pile of CDs on the passenger seat to entertain me on the way and a large Tim Horton’s double double to keep me warm and the ol’ brain firing on all cyclinders. The warm factor was of primary importance on this trip. It was -30C when I took these two shots. It was so cold that as I was opening the pouch of my 3 stop graduated neutral density Sing Ray filter, it cracked! There’s cold and then there’s pouch cracking cold!!
